Invisalign is a clear and comfortable alternative to fixed braces for straightening adult teeth. At Surrey Braces dental centre in Weybridge, they are one of the most popular discreet orthodontic appliances around. Unlike some subtle appliances, which are best designed for mild cosmetic correction, Invisalign can be used to treat a wider range of concerns.
If you are interested in a more discreet way of straightening your teeth, we invite you to join us at our Weybridge dental clinic for an Invisalign consultation. Your orthodontist will conduct a thorough clinical assessment to check if this is the most appropriate method of straightening your teeth.
Our Weybridge dental clinic offers a number of other subtle orthodontic options if Invisalign is not deemed suitable for your needs. However, if it is, your orthodontist will take impressions and photographs of your teeth as necessary to aid with treatment planning.
Invisalign is supported by the latest 3D computer software, which means that your orthodontist will be able to show you the projected end result of your treatment, as well as how your teeth will look during the various treatment stages. A further clinical check will be performed before you commit to your aligners.
Your Invisalign aligners will be made up at the company’s US laboratory, and you will be recalled to our Weybridge dental centre when they are ready.
Treatment with Invisalign takes place in fortnightly increments. You need to change your aligner every couple of weeks as your teeth begin to move. Because everybody’s dental situation is different, the number of aligners required to complete treatment will vary from patient to patient. Your orthodontist will let you know how many you will need during the treatment planning stage.
A huge advantage of treatment with Invisalign is that you can take your aligners out for brief spells at home. Of course, you need to wear them most of the time – ideally for between 20 and 22 hours per day – to ensure treatment goes as planned, but you can take them out to eat, drink, clean, and brush your teeth. What’s more, thanks to their clear nature, nobody will notice you are wearing them.
