Invisalign Weybridge is a great way of improving the look of your smile. Crooked and wonky teeth can have a huge impact on the appearance of your smile affecting your self-confidence and your self-esteem. Invisalign Weybridge is a great way of addressing these issues without drawing much attention to your mouth. This is because Invisalign Weybridge works using clear, thermoplastic aligners that are designed to be invisible in your mouth. This is ideal for patients who are already embarrassed by their teeth and want to avoid drawing further attention to their mouth. It is ideal for patients who avoided orthodontic treatment during their early life, and it is also suitable for conscientious teenagers who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth. Although we do recommend that teenagers use traditional orthodontic braces, Invisalign is also a great way of addressing mild, moderate orthodontic issues and with a good retainer, you can maintain the results for the rest of your life.
In adult patients, it can be used for all types of orthodontic issues. Invisalign Weybridge is used for crooked or wonky teeth, teeth that are overcrowded or overlapped, protruding teeth, and it is also used for bite disorders, including overbite, underbite, and crossbite. Invisalign aligners are designed and manufactured, using the latest in dental technology.
How does Invisalign work?
Our dentist will carry out an examination of your teeth and gums, making sure that it is safe to straighten your teeth. If you are suffering from any underlying dental conditions, these will need to be treated before you begin teeth straightening to prevent damaging your teeth. Once you are given the go-ahead, you will be given a three-dimensional scan of the interior of your mouth. Our dentist will use the scan results for the purpose of creating a digital image of the layout of your teeth. This will help us demonstrate to you how your teeth can look after you have straightened them, and if you are happy with what you see we can use the results to calculate and create a sequence of Invisalign aligners that will help achieve this result.
Each Invisalign aligner moves your teeth by approximately 0.25 mm, so the number of aligners that you need depends on the wonkiness or crookedness of your teeth to begin with, and how much they need to move to create a neatly aligned smile. The process itself is simple, and within a few weeks you will receive your aligners.
Each aligner needs to be worn for approximately two weeks, after which you move on to the next aligner out of the series. You can swap aligners in the comfort of your own home however, the initial fitting may need to be carried out at our practice. This is because you may need small attachments to be placed onto the surface of your teeth to grip the aligners more strongly and achieve greater teeth movements. As with the aligners, the attachments are also designed to be discreet and almost invisible in your mouth. Once you start the process, you can visit us after every three or four aligners, and we will make sure the process is going successfully. Speak to us at Weybridge Orthodontics today to find out more.
