If you are an adult who has crooked teeth, the world can sometimes seem like an unfair place. As a society, we are seemingly constantly bombarded with images of celebrities, models and other famous people who have the glamourous ‘Hollywood Smile,’ which does little to boost self-esteem.
In years gone by, there were only two solutions to three solutions to these issues; learn to live with your teeth, have them removed and replaced with dentures, or wear the large, orthodontic braces which, if anything, would be more likely to add to you feeling self-conscious.
Luckily, today, as dentistry has become more sophisticated, there is a discrete option available, which is taking the dental world by storm.
At Weybridge Orthodontics, we are proud to be able to offer this option to all of our suitable patients. Invisalign in Weybridge can provide you with a discreet alternative to traditional braces while packing the power of a metal-based aligner. Easy to wear and removable, this brace will allow you to carry on with your day to day life with confidence, without drawing unwanted stares from strangers.
Want to know more about Invisalign in Weybridge? Below are the answers to the top 5 FAQs about this powerful orthodontic procedure.
Am I suitable for invisible braces?
When deciding whether or not to have Invisalign in Weybridge, your first port of call so to speak should be with a member of our dental team.
Our team has extensive experience of working with this brace and can quickly assess whether or not you are suitable for treatment with it. Provided your oral health is generally good and you have minor to moderate misalignment issues, you should be suitable for treatment with invisible braces.
How do invisible braces work?
Unlike traditional orthodontic braces, invisible aligners work by gently pushing your teeth into their new position, with the use of gently opposing metal coils.
There is no force associated with this treatment and so, discomfort is minimal.
Aren’t invisible braces painful?
In a word, no. Well, they shouldn’t be!
As previously mentioned, they do not apply force to relocating your teeth in the same way that orthodontic braces do, and therefore, any discomfort experienced while wearing them should be minimal.
How long will I need to wear them for?
The only person who can answer that question is a member of our dental team.
However, it is worth noting that the average period of time many of our patients wear invisible aligners is between 6-9 months in total. Be aware that you may even be able to wear them for less time than this, depending on your clinical situation.
Aren’t invisible braces really expensive?
Money doesn’t grow on trees and the initial cost of invisible braces can seem daunting.
However, due to their accelerated treatment time, they are often more cost-effective than orthodontic options. Many surgeries (including Weybridge Orthodontics) can offer you a payment plan or finance, to help you break down the cost into affordable monthly payments. Perfect!
