Not everybody got to have braces when they were young. Maybe you are one of those people, and now that you are an adult with your own income, you’d like to get your teeth straightened. Trouble is, getting a lovely straight set of teeth means wearing braces, and you’ve been told that your malocclusions are too complex to be successfully sorted out with discreet braces or clear aligners.
So, now you have a choice: you can either submit to clunky metal braces on the front of your teeth (not a great look in your line of work) or you can go without and spend the rest of your life holding your hand over your mouth every time you want to smile.
Actually, there is another way in Weybridge: Incognito. If you have never seen in Incognito in Weybridge, that can only mean that these invisible braces are doing what they are designed to do. That is, straightening people’s teeth while giving no clue of their presence to the rest of the world.
Here at Weybridge Orthodontics, we regularly fit Incognito braces to people’s teeth that are just too twisted, crowded, gappy or badly descended to work with simpler devices.
What is Incognito in Weybridge?
Incognito braces work like the usual bracket and wire braces. The difference is that they are fitted to the backs of the teeth, next to the tongue, where they cannot be seen.
These braces are made of gold alloy and there is a bracket for each tooth. Each bracket is custom-made to fit over the back surface of that tooth. The measurements are taken with a digital scanner or using impressions. Because the brackets are custom-made, it takes about 3 weeks between us taking your measurements and your braces arriving.
Once your braces are on, they gradually straighten your teeth with a pulling pressure as the wires between the brackets are tightened. The braces take a few days to get used to, but after that they won’t interfere with your speech.
Incognito in Weybridge can take a couple of years to work, depending on how misaligned your teeth are to start with.
